Winter Blues or Cabin Fever?

So I stold this pic from Jen's blog because I love it. I have been wanting to put it on our blog since we moved up here but haven't seen it. So she had it and I stold it. Thanks Jen! So what is the difference of Winter Blues or Cabin Fever? Right now I would have to say it's about the same thing -depressing, bordem. I haven't done anything fun so I haven't blogged maybe it's because it is so cold here! Me and the kids were going to go to the Library for reading time like we do every Monday but when I was about to go out the door at 10:30 a.m. Reed text me and said that it was 1 degree! So I changed my mind and we have been stuck inside doing nothing for the last two days. My poor kids are crazy.
But there is hope! So we have a couple of things that go on during the week that break-up the monotony. I thought that I would share for anyone else that might need it.
1st: Four of us ladies are in a dinner group. One person makes dinner one night of the week for all the families, like I make it Monday night for everyone and you deliver it. Then someone else makes it Tuesday night for everyone and so forth. It is a little crazy the night you have to cook but the rest of the we you get warm meals brought to your door! It saves money, time, and stressing out about what to make every single night. I love it!
2nd: We have play group. It works about the same as dinner group but the kids play at someones house every Wednesday from 11-1 and we rotate houses that they play at. Your week you would have eight 2-3 year olds but the next 7 weeks you have one less kid that you have to worry about. I take the time to go to lunch, do shopping, or errands.
3rd: Is about the same idea. This one is Boys Club but just because there are only boys in it. There are four families with a total of 9 boys ages ranging from 20 months - 9 yrs old. They all go to someones house on Friday night from 6-9 p.m. and all the other adults get to have a date night. They can spend it just alone or with other couples. And again we all rotate having to watch all the boys.
I am so glad for people who think up these things because it is so important for the sanity of myself and my kids to get out and get a break!!!

We have a babysitters club here too (like your #3). That dinner idea is a pretty good one... I'd have to talk my gal friends into it.

Honestly, I didn't mind my first pageant, but I should have thrown in the towel after that one and not tried for a second.

Vegas would be fun. I was snooping on Facebook and I guess Laura Noorlander Hawkins and friends are going for a girls trip this April. We need to do something like that (with our girl friends!)

Those sound fun, but society here is so different. There are no stay at home mom's all of them have huge careers. Most people have family to baby sit, so we are out of luck on that one! I'll have to share the ideas w/my Utah gal pals though cause they would probably really like the ideas. We are sick of being stuck in due to the heat, some days I'd trade ya for the cold!

Ohh-so glad to hear from you! so sorry that you are living in the butt cold up there!
Yes, I do have some ideas for you-use bandanas for their curtains, You could just fold them over the rod-or if you can sew-you could whip them up. They would be cheap also! Gotta love that!
I will keep thinking and let you know if I think of anything else. Come back-and say hi!
have a fantastic day!
