We have been so looking forward to the family trip to Lake Powell but at the same time we knew that once it was over then the summer was over. So what better way to end the summer with a bang then to spend a week in Lake Powell. Reed's fam goes every year and we love it! Thanks to Stuart and Carol. We love this family tradition. The Lake is so beautiful surrounded by red rocks. Everyone should see it in their life time!
The house boat. Redsands II. Redsands I sank a couple of years ago which was sad but we love the newer, nicer boat.
My two little tan boys.
Our little beach that we love. It was perfect this year cuz the kids had a shallow pool to play in and plenty of rocks and sand to play in.
Deegan layn' out like Grandma
So the boat has four bedrooms but it is to hot to sleep inside so most of us sleep on the top deck under the stars or rock. This picture is of what I saw from laying down in my bed at night looking up. But of course I took the pic in the day. Pretty cool huh!
Indian ruins from the cliff dwellers.
Deegan, Camden, and Chandler in the house.
We like to play cuz that is what Lake Powell is all about. One of our things that we do is Reed buys hundreds of used, old, golf balls off the internet and takes them with along with a baseball bat and a couple of golf clubs. They love crankn' them out in the water or trying to hit the other wall. Then us girls drift out into the water and try catching them. I think that this year we perfected the game by using snorkling gear and the wave runners!
Riding the dolphin, yeah there are dolphins in Lake Powell.
Tube rides with the kids
and some crazier rides for the girls!
One of my first driving the boat while Reed was wake boarding

Another first, me skiing. I can knee board and wake board but have never tried any kind of skiing. It only took me like 6 tries before I got up and I still don't know how I did it.

Bobo the skiing pro. He even added a trick or two.
Even Chandler said that he wanted to try skiing. I know we were all shocked considering that he doesn't really like the water. But he got in and got the skis on and that was the end of that. But I was impressed he got that far!
Wildlife. Nasty, fat, disgusting carp. Yuck! But Bob, Reed, and Chandler caught this one.
Reed found a new friend. Funny story. Reed was trying to kill it by throwing rocks at it but he kept missing. The whole time the lizard didn't move but just stared him down. Reed finally hit him and I found him floating in the water and saved him. Reed put him on his shoulder and they were friends forever. Chandler even named him Rocky all by himself. We would have brought him home but we don't have any room for him. Maybe next time!It was an awesome trip like always. Thanks again to Stuart and Carol. Farewell Lake Powell and Farewell summer heat and fun!

Hey Hot Mama! Can I tell you how jealous I am of all your swimming this summer. I don't think anyone I know has been on so many fun swimming trips like the Smiths! What a fun end-of-the-summer vaca!
So are you going to start teaching dancing lessons now?
I love Powell, so jealous! Looks like you all had too much fun...
