sInce I mAde A craFt juSt foR tHe FUN oF It!
I have had these summer blocks since last year so I decided to get them out and finish them!
The other day I made a cute banner for Ruth's baby shower and decided that it was so easy and cute that I wanted one for myself. I love Patriotic crafts and colors so I made this one for my house.
Last year I made a couple sets of this wood block flag but I guess I only kept an unfinished one for myself. So I gott'er done.
In the middle of this summer I get the pleasure of going to girls camp which I love but I'm not so sure this year since I will be 8 months prego but we have been trying to get things done and ready. Cammie and I made this, actually she did most of the work I just helped and supervised. Thank goodness for hot glue guns!!!! Does it look like an I-phone? cuz it's supposed to. he he he
And all the CD's have the girls names written on them.
In my room things are coming along slowly but I would like most of it done before the baby gets here. I got this cute material in Utah the other day and with my mad sewing skills actually made some pillow cases.
I also picked up a couple of lamps at the DI. Here is one before and ....
this is after. It turned out really cute. The black dots are little felt flowers just hot glued on. I took the thing apart and spray painted all the gold. I was surprised that I was able to put it back together and it still works. HA! I have another one to do but it is not coming apart so easy and I am not sure if I want to do the same thing to it or something a little different.
For the kids we did a couple fun things. They discovered, well are old enough, to make water balloons and they love that. My mom left her snow cone maker from Rival. It is really easy and really fast. The boys could do it. Then they get to put in all the flavors. I need to go find Tigers Blood cuz that one is my favorite.
Oh and you have got to try this. It was fun to make and fun to drink. The boys thought it was sooo cool. I am having a prego moment but I can't remember what website I got this. She even has a little video showing how to make them.
So I guess I will have to tell you. You can use any drinks and any colors but you have to make sure the sugar content is different cuz you put the one with the highest sugar in first or on the bottom. Then the next lowest and the least or no sugar on the top. You have to fill your glass with ice first, all the way to the top. Then start pouring VERY slowly.
For example I used the pink SoBe with about 25 g of sugar. Then green Gatorade with 5 g of sugar and for the top I used 0 sugar Sprite. I hope that makes sense. If I remember I will post the site.
The best part is you can do any colors. I can't wait for the 4th and make red, white, and blue ones.
